About Joy Black

Joy Black, a 28-year-old violinist and composer from Atlanta, Georgia, embarked on her extraordinary journey when she first cradled a violin at the age of 13. Inspired by world-renowned violinist Vanessa-Mae during her teenage years, Joy yearned to follow in her footsteps and explore the world through music.

A classically trained violinist with over 14 years of experience, Joy seamlessly blends the world of classical music with contemporary genres, including Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, and more—enchanting audiences of all backgrounds with her violin.

Joy has taken her captivating melodies to stages around the globe, performing for thousands worldwide. Her musical prowess has graced prestigious events such as Super Bowl 53 for the New England Patriots, Ford Motor Company, Gatorade, CBS, ESSENCE Magazine, and more. She has performed for iconic figures including Prince Yoel and Princess Ariana of Ethiopia, Usain Bolt “The World’s Fastest Man,” spiritual luminary Sadhguru during his historic Save Soil journey in America, rapper MC Lyte, and many others. Most notably, Joy was invited to perform for a historic street renaming ceremony in honor of Atlanta’s first woman mayor, former Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Her journey also includes a coveted six-month residency at Busch Gardens in Virginia, where she dazzled as the featured solo violinist performing for thousands of people each week. Her illustrious career features high-profile collaborations, including a featured performance in rapper Latto’s “Youngest N Richest” music video and a live performance on Latto’s NPR Tiny Desk concert. She has also performed at major events for ESSENCE Magazine and Ford Motor Company’s “My City 4 Ways” event, as well as Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas’s celebrity birthday ball.

Beyond the stage and screen, Joy gives back—frequently visiting schools and volunteering with youth organizations to inspire the next generation. Her multifaceted journey also includes appearances on America’s Got Talent commercials, FOX’s The Resident and The Gifted, TEDx, and many more.
